Ink on tea cups | Dimensions variable

Description

Hanusha uses tea cups in this installation and her signature ink sketching to draw motifs that are left with people like dregs in a tea cup. Her own memory of growing up, her mother’s figure, the politicians who visit her community when an election is encroaching metamorphed with a donkey head, all become residues left in the tea cup. Meant to be displayed with actual tea and tea bags, which instead of carrying proud and well-known brand names, now carry words that help the audience understand and interpret ideas going through the artist’s head.
